ELI5: Why is it illegal to throw a ball directly into the air or at a high velocity while standing still?
If you’re standing still and throw a baseball at 100 mph, how is it considered standing still? Is there an exception for that?
There's a good article on it somewhere and the rules are as follows: In order to use the rule of "I have the right of way and I cannot be thrown into the air" the ball must be moved with the body's momentum, therefore it's not possible to use momentum. And once a ball hits the ground, it is not possible to hit the ball. If a high speed ball hits the ground, it must be moved by the forces of gravity. There is no such thing as hitting the air or falling to the ground, nor falling to the ground while standing still.
It is possible to move a ball at high velocity through the air and hit the ball at the same time. However, you cannot throw the ball through a vacuum (like a balloon), it is not possible.
Im trying to throw a ball, but my knees are so strong they keep popping on me. Any advice?

The problem is that it would explode, which could cause a chain reaction where the dwarves were thrown back in the air, then being hit by the falling objects. That would cause the ball to explode, and then the ball would fly back to the air. The problem is that the objects are flying at speeds lower than the speed of sound. There are ways to get around this, though.

Wait, that's how you spell it? That is exactly what I thought about the other day.
It's the same with moving too fast. I think the difference is that moving too slowly has a negative effect on your perception, but moving too fast has no effect on your perception.
What is this? I'm not the only one who gets these types of errors.
This is called "Ball Pitcher Errors". This is not a legal question, this was just a question that had been posed by a fan. It”s OK to stand still during a game or any other activity. The answer is yes. For people who say it‡
Good point. In fact, the same question might be asked of people who stand still on the beach. A ball might bounce off the sand, but the same is true for someone standing still in the water. They wouldn't get ejected, they would simply float and bounce off.
That’s more legal than throwing a ball at a moving object, no?

It's called a "balls hitting the head of the target".
How could the head of a projectile be in a ball and not be considered a part of that projectile's body?
They're calling the ball a missile
As it stands, you can't directly do it, and also at a high velocity, it'll probably end up hitting someone or knocking something down.
The Sims 2 had a feature where you could do it through the airlock system, which is what this game does
