What Are Our Trans Voices? ‘Being Transgender’ & “Gender Identity’

I have seen this movie several times but the voice is just one of those strange ones

Hahahaha, you got me. It's like a weird mix between the old gags like gender stereotypes being the main thing people keep in their heads and how society still thinks we're all about the individual who looks the most like the stereotypical masculine or feminine role. The voice is weird in the same way that the rest of the movie is weird. I don't know how the narrator keeps talking about things like “being a man” but it feels like a contradiction, like she's talking about something like “being a woman” but it's so weirdly specific. Also, the movie is very good, but there is this weirdly specific detail that makes it more terrifying. I mean, the voice is just like, “This is just how it feels”. And it's like, “Well, I don't know, I don't know what it is, I'm just living my life.” I like that movie but it’s weird that I just didn't enjoy it enough. Maybe I was just confused about it for a few seconds

What if a trans person does not identify with their assigned sex but is instead a biological female? Or if they aren’t assigned the sex they were assigned they can still be a gender? What if the person can have different genders?

Gender and sex are different. I don't get that there is a gender but gender is real. The idea of the "gender identity" is just another thing that's a lie, so what does this say?

There is a difference in what qualifies as a “transgender” person. We don't always know what qualifies as a trans person, but this is a very broad category and includes those who don't identify as a person born with the correct gender at birth but identify as a woman who has changed their gender at some point in their life. Other people who identify as people who identify as men but don't identify as a man still identify as a man.

I would like to read more about gender identity. If there is an identity that cannot be expressed and does not exist in a society, then can it be assumed to exist?

You should try being cis for a while.
- It is actually easier, and better. Being cis is a bit weird for me, but it’s been easy and much more positive and is better than it was even 10 years ago, even for a bit. If you want to transition, you can always tell them it's not about the "being cis", it's about being trans. You have no obligation to ever say you want to transition and just look the same.
Oh, this is why it's better to just talk about the things that you hate about society instead of just things. That's just the most important thing about being trans, since it doesn't really affect others who hate society.

- They used to be scared of being called weird, so they were careful not to say it was possible. But now, that fear has given way to disgust for being called weird. But there's so much more to being a trans person than being a freak.
