The Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian BM-30 "Smerch" MLRS. Due to its long range (120 km), this is a very important target.

In the Russians' defense, it's harder to shoot down a cruise missile than a civilian airliner with almost 300 innocent passengers including 80 children.

As always treat this with a grain of salt, but I heard their tactic was to overwhelm it with decoy drones before sending in the actual cruise missile. Kind of like what the US did during desert storm over Baghdad
