I remember when new iPhone releases would make headlines and people would crowd around computers to watch the live announcements. I remember sneaking out of work early once so I could be home in time to watch it with my housemates. Nowadays they’re so boring they barely get mentioned.
That's a good thing, it's a sign that smartphones as a technology have matured.
But it’s also boring. Innovation is fun.
Maybe we will see that kind of innovation in the VR space if the Apple headset really becomes the next big thing, but I have my doubts.
I never understood that kind of hype. Also people camping in front of cinemas or stores. Why? It's just some movie or toy. That behavior doesn't seem healthy.
This happens ahead of every Apple product launch. No one ever covers it except Apple focused sites.
I watch them for the production value, not the actual hardware lmao
