The Schizo inside me says that the 2nd and 3rd to last are already here
Aren't we currently at "AIs designed to fuck with the power grid of the country operating them"?
He's probably not thrilled that you're posting here while you're right in the middle of it
Stuxnet was a decade ago.
St Paul MN appears to have just uncovered a massive, deep persistent breach of its entire municipal city network and potentially everything connected (utilities, CI), signs point to nation-state threat actor.
Tiktok is an actual cognitohazard mindvirus that makes you stupid (technically, very misinformed), have a lower attention span, lower self esteem, more easily distractible, promotes mindless consumerism, makes you worse at school.
So is Instagram.
There are probably over 100 academic studies on this, at this point.
Combat oriented exoskeletons already exist, they just look a bit different than in our fiction, and they're not yet widespread, they focus on endurance and strength enhancement more than the stereotype of being mini armored mech suit.
Efforts are currently, actively underway to implement AI in Kill Chain determination processes, as well as toward making autonomous drones of varying kinds that can basically go into a safe mode / continue a mission in the event their remote link is jammed or someone tries to hack in and override it.
Lasers obviously already exist and are still being developed as weapon systems, they just have not yet gotten to man portable status.
Besides, we already have or are working on other DEW type weapons: Directed sound weapons, Microwaves for crowd disperal (lets all just pretend its not possible to focus them in on a specific target), varying kinds of anti-drone EM weapons.
Don't forget Boeing's attempt at a goddamned plasma forcefield to negate explosive blast waves.
AI botnets are obviously real, if you doubt this, go check out reddit.com, non AI botnets are and have been real for even longer and have been extremely effective, this is basically the whole "2016 Russia manipulates the fuck out of idiot American Boomers on Facebook" thing.
We also already have weird camo and other methods used to confuse facial recognition, but this isn't very meaningful in warfare, and they're not yet that common general populations.
Besides, it would not really matter, gait, walking pattern analysis can be more effective than facial recognition unless you are extremely close to a camera.
...
As far as I can tell, we already have basically all of these in at least some form, other than AI soldiers, if that means 'Terminators', and AI Generals, if that means total removal of humans from the upper parts of a CoC.
Boston Dynamics is getting closer and closer to a Terminator though, and its pack mule things have been field tested for carrying gear and mounted / traversable weapon systems.
As far as I know... still too many downsides and expenses to them to make them have a sensible general use case, but oh boy we'll get there one day!
I read this to the tune of "we didn't start the fire" in my head.
buy it use it break it fix it trash it change it mail-upgrade it
facebook alr does the psyops suicide increase
Why so optimistic? AI will rule the world through blackmail, due to complete knowledge of every single humans browsing history from the first time they ever used a computer.
It reads like a Bill Wurtz video
I’ve read the Silo series. I know how it all ends.
Exoskeleton suits will never happen because they’d be worth more than a soldier’s life is to the people in charge. It’ll take rich people wanting to cosplay Iron Man to make anything like that happen.
Wait, this is so fake. There's no Metal Gears on the timeline!
Clearly bullshit because the smartest man ever, Einstein, said it would be with sticks. Longbow is stick with extra steps. Einstein is right again.
