Total War: Shogun started out as 'a quick and cheerful B-grade RTS' to help Creative Assembly raise funds for its dream game—an RPG based on Monkey: Journey to the West

Man, I really loved Shogun, and honestly the fall of the samurai was amazing as well. For some odd reason I found that the naval battles were my favourite, even though its clearly not the main focus of the game. There was just something so satisfying about planning and moving around your ships so that they could fire a volley right into the opposing ships' sides a second before they could do the same to you.
