WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Crystina Schroer entered a plea of no contest to multiple charges in the death of her adopted daughter, 6-year-old Kennedy Schroer.
Authorities found the young girl had been buried in the backyard of the family’s home in Rose Hill in September 2024, and her death triggered an extensive investigation by law enforcement.
Schroer, originally charged with first-degree murder, pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of second-degree murder. In addition to the amended murder charge, she also entered no contest pleas to child abuse, making false information, and theft of more than $15,000 but less than $25,000.
The prosecution then presented facts of the case, and the judge found her guilty.
