The art of the game is always subjective. We all have different ideas of what is "fun" to play and what is not. It's never guaranteed to be a success or a failure. But if you try to claim something is a success it won't work out.

There are definitely lines that can be drawn in gaming and in life. You are making an awesome point but it's very important to remember that when we're in a relationship there is no need to create a whole story, there is only the bare minimum of information about what we are both into and what we are both into.
- Tldr best answer: When you start building a backstory for your other person - especially if they have multiple stories to tell - it can be helpful (but not necessary) to know what the other partys background was before starting the relationship. You may feel like this is all needed information, but dont put it there just yet. The point is to build a foundation so that when the time comes, both parties can come back to it later and make a decision together. I do agree that game commenting is a problem. But, when we see it and hear the reactions from gamers, it's like: wow this is so hard! But I can assure you it's not the case for everyone. And yeah, a lot of these things can be better discussed in a different way, I think. And the same goes for the majority of posts on this site. So don't post 'how to deal with these comments' or 'how to deal with these trolls' unless you have actual advice or knowledge. The author is clearly a closeted trans woman. That's a very different situation to that of an individual playing video games, which is why you would expect some other type of discourse in this type of situation to be very common. The title, in a nutshell, is the same thing - they're looking to discuss trans people in a negative way. So far as I can tell, the game you're referring to was indeed the game that the article is referring to.
This is not the right sub to discuss this subject with, so i think i would like to offer my thoughts on this issue too..
- I would agree that you would like to see this type of posts being removed, because that's what reddit is for. But as a creator you do what you can to keep up the quality of posts and keep up with the quality of the discussions you have, as it is the best way to maintain a healthy and balanced community. There are many different ways this can go, and there are many different kinds of harassment and harm that can result from this. As a creator you have to balance your moderation needs and desires and do what you feel is best for your community. This is a balance and a balancing act on your part - it is important for you to make sure everyone involved is aware that what they are posting is not only offensive but also potentially harmful to them.
- I agree completely with your last point about being respectful of others opinions/ideas without attempting an attack (though there may be some context). This subreddit has been around for years now and its very important because we all have different points but also share our own views & experiences which makes us feel valued by each other as well!
I have this thing where sometimes I get comments like, 'damn i wish i had sex with your ex wife and she wouldnt have been cheating on me.' I don't know what it is, and I don't know where it came from but it just really makes me think back to when i first got into it. I always liked when people would ask me out because I had a big pool of potential partners that could get me a date with someone. I guess it became a thing for some time after a while. When I was playing on PS4 I got comments like this every now and again - I'm pretty sure it's a common thing for women to get comments like that from men. I remember playing through some of the 'N' videos of the N64, and the comments were like, 'damn i wish I had your wife on my dick right now' or 'damn im glad you made a big deal about your ex wife cheating on you.'
- I have a thing where sometimes I get comments like 'damn I wish i had sex with your ex wife. You had a good life.' Or, 'damn Im sorry i wish my gf got married.' It's because I see people like you often, so it just brings back bad memories. But i like to remember how I used to get compliments in my teens and early 20s. I always thought it was weird, because I'm not "that" attractive, and people tend to think that I'm pretty. But I have seen so much more of people's reactions to this stuff now, that I really appreciate it.

A good number of comments seem to be "I don't really see that big of a deal" about what they don't see. As a woman, this is an absolute no go.
