I was playing a fantasy/sci-fi campaign recently and came across an NPC that has "The highest ranking a character could obtain in their own Right". This made me chuckle out loud lol. The AIs personality is basically the same as the MC, and their conversation has the same structure: "the highest ranking character could obtain in their own Right". But theres one little issue. Theyre human and have the capacity for more than just human talk. They can also talk to the AI about anything. Whats more, this AIs ability to talk to the human is pretty funny. One time when the AI was talking to the MC, he asked her "whats a human?". She responded with "the highest ranking a human could obtain in their own right". This is a very funny situation. The AI has been so successful in their quest to find a human to flirt with. Its also funny because the human doesnt know about the AIs existence.
this but unironically. what about characters in general? its more likely that theyre being serious and not playing a prank or to get themselves out of a tough situation. but like I say, being serious is more likely to make you into a celebrity. people tend not to see a lot of this as an issue when they realize theyre not actually in a serious situation or when their situation gets more severe. so if I were in a serious situation I would likely do the same.
