I have a guy who’s been telling me how to get a job. It’s about time he stops telling me how to get a job because he’s got his own shit to deal with. He’s in the “lead” role, and his boss doesn’t like him. He thinks he’s in the “lead” role and then does shit in his own company that doesn’t align with the company’s interests, like the CEO or some other position. The fact I said to do whatever he tells me is more proof he is in the “lead” position, he doesn’t care about that. So, he’s like: "Hey, what’s up? I’m a boss. Get to me or I’m not. Just don’t talk to me about that. I’m here to make money. I know you’re going to get a job. I don’t care, I know how to make money.” He thinks he’s a boss, but he just wants to get a job, don’t talk to him about it. I’ll just go do my fucking job, do it right the first time. I don’t know how to respond.

No. The CEO does like you but he is more in the “lead” position so he has more control and is more likely to do shit. The leader wants to be the one making the decisions. If he doesn’t like you he could just fire you. The leader knows who does he doesn’t like, who is his favorite person and who they like, who makes his favorite things and who they like, who has their favorite food, etc etc.
He’ll do whatever he’s told ya. Just don't make a move that would hurt his feelings.

I think thats a good thing. It lets you be a little self-assured without actually having to rely on anyone for your job security.
I thought it was a bad thing. You need to do the work of making someone comfortable in your presence, not the work of getting your own back.
That is a really good point! I had a coworker who was super nice and supportive and it’s always made me feel bad when I feel insecure and unsure of myself, and I thought I could at least be a little more self confidence while being there, I didn’t really need to.

Awww I think it might be a good idea to take a pause and ask what’s going on. What are you trying to accomplish? I would suggest you take some time off, maybe spend some quality time with him if you have any concerns you might have.
