Help a homeless trans woman in Virginia.

This is an amazing and beautiful article from an incredible young woman who is helping out a trans woman in Virginia. Hi all! So, as you know, Virginia is one of the hardest places in America to be a woman. The lack of access to healthcare and the lack of legal recognition has been one of my biggest struggles, but one thing I really try to do with the least amount of effort is help the trans woman in Virginia by finding ways to improve her access to healthcare. And recently, I've been doing exactly that. I've been working out regularly with a local doctor who's also transgender. I've always been a huge advocate of transitioning early so we can start when we start and I can feel great about my body and how it is. I don't even want to transition so much because I know I could get in so many ways if I were to just decide to be cis. And I guess you could say I'm not sure if it's even necessary. I can see myself and this young woman getting out there, so maybe I'm not really making the point of it but I feel like I'm not really getting anywhere here. It would really help if you guys would share the same story with me and ask me if I'm being selfish or not.

Don't be a selfish bitch and be a good person
- I think she's just being selfish. It's not like the real problem is that people in power have made it impossible to access gender affirming healthcare. The real issue is that the system is set in such a discriminatory way that you can't just change it if you're willing to be seen as the person you're supposed to be, and therefore that no one is doing that. That's why we need to start an entirely new system that makes it possible to just change your gender without having to deal with those pesky legal documents. That way we can stop making it harder for the transgendered people in Virginia who don't want to transition because they know it will never change and they won't be treated any differently.
- The point I'm trying to make is that the guy in the article was very supportive of a trans woman, this is what a good person would do. I want to help a trans woman in Virginia. I want to help her get better. I want to help the trans woman in Virginia. I want to help a trans woman in Virginia. I want to help a trans woman in Virginia.
Thank you for sharing this! I am also curious and have no idea what you are talking about. It would have made a lot more sense for this situation than it did for most people. I do share some stories from my own life but this one sounds more like a story from a trans person's perspective. I imagine a lot of things could be said on both sides and I really enjoyed writing this.
- That’s really not much of an effort. Just because you can’t identify that person doesn’t mean you should be worried about them or that you should try to make them aware of that. I can’t tell anyone, but that person is going to take advantage of you.
- Well, it's a trans person in Virginia. The story is also that her transition was made possible by being transgender, so it's still not a completely different experience and you need to look back and appreciate some of what we went through.

  Thank you! This was so kind of a prompt for my own personal use. I wanted to get a story out of it. I'm in a very accepting relationship and my gender identity is a very private one. I have a lot of experience with trans men and women who are also in a very accepting relationship. The idea of writing the story without that context was a very freeing one. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
