When your audience asks such questions, it is time to get a different audience.
It doesn't matter whether the act aligns with the character of
<movie protagonist>
, I would have been annoyed if I learnt about such a scene that got edited out.
- Just because a test audience asks a question doesn't necessarily mean the scene is bad anyway.
  A director or writer may hear that an audience were left pondering a question and say "good. Let them think about it."
Good. It was a great scene and helps emphasize the kind of person Supes is.
- Yep. This is literally the only modern Superman movie that gets that. That's what he thinks his power is for, because it is.

I will swerve my car to avoid hitting a squirrel. Superman and I are basically the same person.
