  • i can sympathize with if you're new to linux and you install firefox from the repo manager, that message can be scary

    • which distro does that?

      in windows, if you have any group policy that has an effect on your settings, that message gets populated

      • In my case all it does is setting DisableAppUpdate to true. So that firefox doesn't update itself and instead the package manager does it.

      • most any that you intsall firefox from the repos. it disables autoupdate which requires you install firefox from a downloaded file like an rpm, a deb, a snap, or a flatpak.
