A risky bet? Texas Republicans poised to redraw state congressional map on Trump’s orders

Spoiler alert: Dumpy will get what he wants with little to no resistance.

They don't need Trump to tell them. They did this about 20 years ago. Law at the time said redistricting was done every 10 years, following the census. To secure their hold on Texas politics, Republicans, with a state congressional majority, drew up new district maps out of this normal cycle. Democrats fled to Oklahoma to prevent quorum so they couldn't vote on it and the Republican Governor at the time had law enforcement compel them back to force the redistricting.
