The key thing to call out is those L.A. protesters were peaceful and orderly. They remained calm even while being attacked by Trump’s goons. There were no fights and no murders. They protested civilly, and employed civil disobedience and organisation.
They are not completely non-violent though, as a handful did damage property by setting fire to Waymo’s (equipped with police surveillance). But that does not apply to all the protesters as, if I recall correctly, they had a massive turnout. Only a handful destroyed property.
Property destruction of an individual owner's (e.g house they depend on) is violence, if it poses damage to the family that lives there.
Destruction of corporate property is not.
The funny part is the cops only ever respond to one of these types of damage. Take a guess which.
We need to stop referring to people as "violent" for damaging the means of oppression. Also people might technically be violent if they defend themselves against violent attacks by the authorities, but that again should not be accepted as a framing.
After seeing what Trump has done and will do, I don't think the majority like what's happening. Sucks that they didn't vote though, which might not be their fault since voter suppression is a thing
There's a reason it's not the Trump Administration but the Trump Regime. He's using federal resources not to execute the law and perpetuate national services, but to serve his own interests. Trump is not enacting the duties of the office, but instead is looking to profit personally from his powers.
The White House has literally gone rogue, and is not at all engaging the responsibilities of government.
Think of him and his staff as organized embezzlers.
They weren't sent to LA to say protesters. They were sent to intimidate and test if they can similarly deploy them to other states.
They don't really have much to do here anyway.
Oh and to summarize. Together with NG that's nearly 5,000 troops. The protest (which was already under control by the time troops arrived) had 1,000 people and was contained within 5 blocks of the city.
Members of the U.S. Marines Corps are coming to Louisiana to aid U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement with administrative and logistical work as ICE continues its immigration crackdown across the country, according to the Department of Defense's U.S. Northern Command.

Uh oh, I hope ICE doesn't use crayons for their administrative stuff.
Do what I do, print it out and post it on the corkboard by the mailboxes. Lemmy and Imgur are great resources for leftist propaganda to spread around your neighborhood.
