As Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents embark on countless deportation raids in an effort to meet the White House’s daily arrest quota of 3,000, many officers are becoming completely demoralized, several agents told Nick Miroff with The Atlantic.“Morale is in the crapper,” a former ICE agent ...
"forced"
Remember, no one forces them to commit massive human rights violations, every single ICE "agent" has to justify in front of the International Court Of Justice in The Hague. We are preparing the seats, ICE agents, I hope you are ready for what is coming. Pleading "just following orders" didn't work during the Nürnberg Trials and won't help you now.
Ah, the poor widdle babies! But who exactly is "forcing" them? "I was just following orders" is going to go down about as well as it did during the Nuremberg trials, when this madness has finally played out.
Western Germany did pay a bit of reparations but undoubtedly not nearly close to even resemble the damage it had done. Eastern Germany was paying quite extensively to the Sovjet Union, albeit all the machines and resources they could take from there also would not amount to anything close of what the Germans did in the Sovjet Union.
The Nuremberg trials only made a few prominent cases but left a lot of people off the hook. A lot of the "middle management" of the Nazi regime made a career in Western Germany politics, industry, courts, security apparatus and military. Infamously there is still places named after the SS Officer Hans Martin Schleyer who was tasked with the "arrisation" of the czech economy and later became the president of the German employer organization and the German industrial organization, two of the most powerful corporate lobby groups. Instead of tossing this SS scumbag to the historical gutter, he is celebrated as a martyr in the fight against communism because he was killed by the RAF terrorist Organization in 1977.
Something like that. We'll be lucky if even the most senior people ever get punished. As for the lower echelons, a few will be randomly picked and made an example of, but most won't face serious consequences.
Seems to me that they had no issue with arresting & deporting the elderly, children, separating parents and children, documented legal immigrants and so on.
Sucks to be forced to deport your own gardener, I guess..
Don't forget literally snatching children as "bait". Kid's a birthright citizen, but if you arrest THEM and they call Mom about "some people said they were from ICE and they took me away from school", you can arrest the parents when they show up and deport THEM instead (and often put the kid in foster care instead of sending them with their parents to whatever country of origin.
“No drug cases, no human trafficking, no child exploitation; it’s infuriating,” another ICE agent told Miroff, who added that he was leaning towards quitting the agency rather than continue “arresting gardeners.”
They are not welcome in civil society, so hopefully that morale doesn't improve after the failure of trumps presidency and the convictions for blatant disregard of people's rights, including Americans.
If they don't show id and a warrant, they aren't protected personally from prosecution.
