That's what fascism always is. Hitler's cabinet was full of drunks, addicts, incompetents, and genuine crazy people. People who think fascists were ever competent just fell for the marketing.
Also ehat conservatism always is. Conservatism is universal, because its the fear of change and the desperate want to maintain control, which is always a losing enterprise. So they need to escalate violence and power grabs as it starts falling through their fingers faster and faster, and always ends in authoritarianism and eventually fascism once violent citizen militias are given state say and funding.
Yeah, if you look at how well Hitler took over Europe at first by just harnessing people’s dissatisfaction and listening to his generals, and then turned around and made dumb mistake after dumb mistake, it becomes obvious.
The more fascist you are, the dumber you get. The core of their philosophy is to use violence and brute force cause they believe that it always ends with the winners winning, and surely they were born a winner.
It’s circular logic, fake it till you make it works to get power but you need competence to actually keep it.
I blame the History Channel. It made the Nazis look competent and smart.
They’re always like “OMG look at this rocket plane!” without mentioning that it never saw combat but did chemically dissolve several pilots and ground crew.
Big insult chains like that only hit home for me if each one adds a new dimension or sense to the insult. This is just saying stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid over and over again. Reminds me of le epic reddit insults like "fuckwaffle" or whatever the hell it was. I hate conservatives and fascism as much as anyone, but it's tiring to see such circlejerky posts that basically just say "conservatives dumb, upvote below". I don't need my opinion circlejerked, I'm already convinced of it without some random man telling me it's true. And there's nothing cathartic about reading this either because of how try-hard the insult sounds. Bleh.
Agree, I also think that insulting tangentially related things (or just completely unrelated) kinda spoils your point. Like, is the problem with MAGA the fascism, or is it stupid people with mullets? Because I know a lot of stupid people and many are genuinely good people, hate is a choice you make.
I'm sorry that the education system failed to inform you of this, but that's what fascism is. Sensical fascism is utterly oxymoronic. It's dumb as hell in every iteration because it's a bunch of idiots whipping each other into a hate mob and turning that hate mob built on a system of "yes and" into a police state
This exactly. The only reason it even works at all is because they are building on top of an already functioning imperial system. Fascists are like prions emerging from within and taking over a far more competent - and more subtly evil - host, and making it lash out violently while melting its brain into goo. Even if it is not rooted out it's still doomed to kill its host and by extension, itself.
It's the one thing I never really understood when I read about it in history classes. The blatant hypocrisy, particularly how fascism is obsessed with "strong men" while worshipping the whiniest manchildren. It seemed important because it was a top comment by people who lived through it, but I never understood it until Trump.
I have no problem with insulting fascists, bootlickers and other vermin, but a lot of that "inbred ... chaw spitting ... mullet-wearing six-toed cross-eyed cousin-fucking" stuff doesn't feel right to me.
Maybe it feels elitist? Like the way he says 'this is a particularly stupid version of fascism' is by describing it with images that conjure up stereotypes used against the rural working class. Like you could add the word "peasant" and it wouldn't look out of place.
Who cares? It’s not like some imaginary fancy fascism is any more preferable.
A rooms on fire and you’re annoyed it started from a cigarette butt instead of from the power point. Its irrelevant, focus on the fire not the aesthetic.
