Flights to and from Marseille have been suspended and traffic at the city’s main train station was disrupted due to a wildfire near the southern French port city.
Both, Canadairs have been flying near the runways for hours, refueled at the airport and took water near the runways (but usually that's okay, because they try to stay out of the way).
The fire is pretty bad, it reached the city and they had to interrupt all train traffic towards and from Marseille and Nice because of it. Not sure if the airport is a base of operation, but the smoke is really thick, and I'm not sure planes can safely fly through that.
