I recognize that Hunter was a target of right-wing lawfare, but I maintain that a blanket parden of all 'nonviolent crimes' for over a decade is the wrong tool for the job.
It was to protect him from the crazy MAGA lunatics, if it wasn't a blanket pardon the right would have manufactured something to get him with. There are plenty of things to criticise Biden for, but this is something I believe any parent would have done in that situation, and its completely fair and the right thing to do.

And the actual crimes Hunter was convicted of during that time were absolved. All after Biden Sr avowed he would not pardon him.
I don't have children, so I cannot fault his devotion to his kid, but I still feel that justice was not (and maybe could never be) had, and that the position and responsibility of president and presidential pardon were severely cheapened as a result.

On the other hand, once the SCOTUS basically made the President king so long as they did it in the interest of the country, Biden should have just put all of them in jail, but that's beside the point.

There was nothing he could have done. It’s a mistake thinking the US changed so dramatically almost overnight in the past few months. In reality, the cracks in the dam have been growing slowly over the decades. There just comes a point where you can’t paper them over anymore.
All the suggestions here about moves Biden could have made to the Supreme Court or with other laws are forgetting about January 6th. There’s a huge number of people who voted for and actually want what is happening right now. Blocking them or delaying them is only delaying the inevitable. Politics is war by other means.
