We have a new donation page. But before you go there, I would like to impress upon you this idea: We would vastly prefer you donate $10/mo for one year ($120 total) than $200 in one lump sum. That's counter-intuitive, so let me explain. First of all, cash flow matters just as much to a...
Title kinda doesn't make sense to me, they argue to donate monthly instead of a lump sump which I can understand, a lot of individual artist / podcasters etc prefer this as well, because it's easier for them /Gnome to work / plan with a steady stream of income instead of random payments here and there.
Which I totally understand. But personally I'm not a fan of lots of small amounts cluttering up my (digital) bank statements every month, so I tend do just do "amount I'm comfortable to pay monthly x 12" once a year (sorry đŹ).
I don't like the idea of recurring payments especially for something I'm not actively using because then I have to remember to shut it off at some point.
Maybe you decide $10/mo is such a small number (the price of two coffees in any country where Iâve lived over the past 15 years) that youâre happy to keep on donating at the end of one year?
What, like I'm going to remember a year in advance to look into this? I'm willing to donate a little to things on rare occasions but I don't think I would do it this way because I don't want an accumulation of little monthly payments I have stopped thinking about draining my finances.
