Deja Vu. A lot of indie developers also had to wait months to get their Switch 1 devkits when that came out.
The console isn't out for a whole month. Indie devs usually don't get dev kits ahead of launch and even if they do it is not a good idea to try to compete with Mario Kart...
"It’s understandable that dev kits are heavily restricted before a console launch and they usually remain restricted for a while afterwards," he says. "The Switch 2 has been very normal in this regard and we didn’t expect to have access to kits ahead of launch."
I think this quote sums up the article nicely.
Well where are the freaking switch 2s???
The SD card reader on my switch broke a couple years ago so now it takes 7-8x longer to load anything, and instead of paying Nintendo to "fix" it again I'm just waiting to get a switch 2.
But I can't do that because of scalpers
I think Nintendo knows Americans fall for false scarcity. It’s quite easy to buy in Europe.
Yes they do. That's why scalping is so common here. People will scalp anything. Right down to chicken sandwiches during the first weeks of the pandemic. It's stupid.
Huh, that's interesting to hear. I have no intention of getting one, so everything I've heard until now, both online and in person, was that if you wanted one on launch day you were able to get one. Checking out the situation now though, and yeah, it's indeed quite dire.
Yeah, no. It was just as bad this time as always.
I'm not waking up at 5am to be the first one into whatever store to get one either.
