If you see a police officer on the streets, you are in your right to defend yourself. They do not have your best interests in mind, they are more likely to murder you than even let you be.
so like, if we post that same truck picture on said sheriff's personal webpage with the caption "sheriff crusher" we totally wouldn't get pulled in by the fbi or nsa or sheriff or anything. this fucking country.
They really aren't convincing me that there is a moral imperative in NOT shooting them. With each abuse the rightwing afflicts, the less that I consider Republicans to be fellow Americans. Rather, I am starting to view them as irredeemable monsters that must be slain.
The GOP doesn't understand what will happen to them, their families, and society. We won't be one people anymore, becoming willing to wage war upon each other. This is a dark and evil timeline, one that could have been avoided if the Republicans were willing to think beyond themselves.
The destiny of our nation will be written in blood, deserved or not.
That's a law enforcement representative promoting slaughter of citizen's exercising their right to protest. And at the same time making fun of people who have died this way.
You guys need to hit the reset button. This is beyond fucked.
We had amazing turnout for the "No Kings" protest. But that likely gave the well-off Liberals enough to feel like they did something for awhile. And most will still nod their heads in agreement with "dealing with Iran". The US is in need of a war to improve its economy it seems.
These fascist will grow more bold as the liberals start to see protests and threatening to the status quo they also enjoy. And the poor of this country seem to have just enough bread to keep them from targeting their violence at the right people.
I don't know what will happen. But we are definitely living through weeks where the decades happen right now. I just don't think it's going to end in a good place.
They don't have consistent values at all. We keep interacting with them in terms of pointing out their hypocrisy or inconsistent messages, but they literally do not care about what they said yesterday. They are simple, linear minds who only work in terms of what they're feeling right now and I think if we did better to treat them that way and remember we're not winning intellectual arguments with them, we would make actual progress in changing them.
They scream about "free speech" when they feel their words are unpopular and being booed. They care about life and abortions when it's not their daughter. They cheer on cops who shoot innocent black kids, but would go firebomb the local station if a cop came into their house and shot their dog.
We seriously, absolutely HAVE to digest this so we can collectively start forming new tactics to manipulate them into making better outcomes for all of us.
Because whatever else happens, even if we win back everything tomorrow, we will continue to share a world with them as our neighbors and the people who... who... okay I guess contractors and plumbers? Probably a few truck mechanics too, but point remains, they exist all around us, and if we're really going to be better than them, we have to be like parents who subtle change the way a toddler feels without yelling at them and making them feel mad or put out.
Why hasn't he retired at 79? Has he been failed by America's shitty social support? Or maybe is he just one of those people who is obsessed with power?
Our country is riddled with ancient old sacks of shit who serve as sheriffs until they die. It's a whole thing. Among our many, many problems with police in America.
I don't know shit about PA laws, but in FL (and probably any stand your ground or castle law state); because of stand your ground, you can shoot the driver of the truck and hope to kill them before they hit someone. They don't even have to be driving towards you... they can be trying to drive over someone else.
It's going to be REALLY wild seeing these same fucks starting bitching and whining about being gunned down in the streets. They start a hot civil war and act all tough and shit, but watch who pisses themselves first.
Our vision is to become the most professional law enforcement agency in the County and our region. To make this vision a reality:
We will become well known for our high professionalism, our competence, and the dependability of our word—and through these we will gain and establish the public’s trust.
We will consistently demonstrate exemplary performance of duty to serve and protect the Court and the citizens of Adams County, and to assist our peers in the law enforcement community to maintain order in our community.
We will become known as reliable members of the community, as enthusiastic participants in its activities, and as visible forces for good within it.
Each of us will become a knowledgeable and skilled ambassador for the Sheriff’s Office and an educator-through-action for the public.
Through our actions and our integrity, we will become known as models of diligent, steadfast, and thoughtful public service.
We will carry ourselves with dignity and be proud to show our passion for exceeding expectations, doing things well, and making the work of others easier.
We will always learn something valuable from our mistakes, and never miss an opportunity to help create a positive heritage for the people we serve.
MISSION:
The mission of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office is to provide first-class professional, dignified, and courteous service to the Adams County Court, the citizens of the County, its agencies, and all law enforcement agencies with whom we partner to maintain order in our community.
We will serve with integrity and distinction, whether providing security for court proceedings, serving warrants and papers, conducting prisoner transport, or fulfilling any other duties required under law and statute.
As we undertake our Mission, we shall keep in mind at all time the Vision and Core Values of this organization.
CORE VALUES:
We subscribe to three (3) core values which guide our actions and our conduct:
Duty
Service
Integrity
Our duty is to uphold the Constitution of the United States and of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the statutes of the state. We have a duty to uphold the trust of the public we serve, a duty towards each other, to the Office of the Sheriff of Adams County, and to ourselves.
We are mindful that we are a service organization, funded by the public, and guided by the notion that community partnerships are the best way to establish trust between public law enforcement agencies and the citizens they serve. As service providers, we have a duty to serve each other with diligence, dignity, and respect so that we can all do our best to serve those outside our office.
We understand that integrity is the currency of all our transactions, the stock in trade and basis of our worth as an office. Without integrity, there can be no trust from the people we serve.
To show that these values are fundamental to our performance as a team:
We will always be true to our word, keep all our promises, and take every step that quality follow-through requires.
We will take every opportunity to convey our mutual support for each other and what we stand for.
We will earn the respect that others have for us through service, hard work, and proven commitment to our own growth and self-improvement.
We will act with dignity, respect, and self-possession—because what each one does reflects upon us all.
