I recently asked ChatGPT to write an email just out of curiosity to see what it would do and it ended the email with "thank you for your attention to this matter". I ended up writing the email myself because after many iterations it was still worse than writing it myself. Perhaps AI is writing Trump's tweets?
This reads like several other recent posts of his recently where it’s clear he’s not actually running things.
Like the other day he said something like “Pete Hegeseth should send in the troops!” to LA. 1. You’re the president Donald, you kind of make that decision. 2. Why aren’t you talking directly to him and if you are, why did you ask him to do it in the post instead of saying he already is?
Same thing with this one. Reads like he’s giving an order to staff instead of communicating with his cult.
Its a shitty boss thing. Shift your responsibilities to your subordinates so they can take the blame if something goes wrong. If it goes right, you take the credit for their work.
Trump's administration literally pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal that Iran had been abiding by. They weren't developing nuclear weapons, we cut sanctions... Absolutely everyone won. Except Trump, whose fee fees were hurt that a Democrat created this deal, so the overgrown toddler blew it up. Now everything's worse.
For all of his failings, and there are many, the thing that embarrasses me most that he is president is how horrible he is at speech and writing. Like, motherfucker, you had access to the best education you could get over the last seventy years, and you couldn't be bothered to take a fucking class or two and write shit like this? My fucking twelve year old niece is better than that
To be fair his support base specifically likes him because he doesn't speak like a typical politician. There are numerous accounts of trump supporters saying things like "he says it like it is" and "he's a guy you could have a conversation with." I think there is something to the way he speaks that resonates with people. I'm from Australia and it feels like all politicians speak in a specific way. They talk like they're walking on eggshells and it's not appealing to me. Trump's terrible, but his speech is iconic. And honestly, sometimes I'm not sure if he sounds dumb purely because I'm used to politicians speaking with a manufactured eloquence. Maybe if I heard a random person speaking with Trump's cadence I wouldn't give it a second thought.
Back during his first presidency, I watched I think it was Mars rover landing. There was a press conference after the successful touchdown where he was speaking. At this point I knew the man was a stupid POS, but I'd never actually heard him speak for more than 10 seconds.
Whoo boy. Not only was his body language and cadence annoying, he was talking absolute, mindless nonsense. I clicked off the stream and decided to come back later to catch actually smart people talking. Joke's on me. Literally -- in the original meaning of the word -- an hour later he was still babbling nonsense. I was genuinely shocked at how much and for how long this man could talk with zero substance or coherence. The fact that so many people think he "says it as it is" either tells me these people a) never heard him speak for longer than 10 seconds, b) never actually listened with understanding, but just nodded along because he's not a "lib'rul" or c) are actually genuinely so dumb, but by some incredible stroke of luck they've survived long enough to vote for him.
I literally tried to follow transcripts of Trump talking back in 2016, and I couldn't. They just came off as word salads, unfortunately this is why his base loves him.
It's kinda like those New Age speakers who give a bunch of empty platitudes that could reasonably mean any god damn, if you bite hard enough you'll look for what you want to hear without even realizing it.
He was given an education, and the information bounced off of his brain like bullets off superman. His professors have said that he was profoundly stupid.
The thing is, he hasn't had to be anything other than what he is. He's experienced no real consequences to any of his shitty behavior. He's skated by, even been propped up, on his brash incompetence.
I read somewhere about that and the theory was that this is intentional, a big chunk of his base are functionally illiterate and talking like this makes him just understandable.
Add to this the fact that speaking like this makes him sound very nonpatronizing.
Finally it's good marketing, it's the same thing Ben Shapiro does in his annoying argument voice. Now that I think about it even Obama has a very easily distinguishable way of speaking.
Yeah I somewhat agree, I think it's more likely that he's emphasising his natural cadence as opposed to a total fabrication. People like to call him dumb but he is possibly the most successful con man in history. If you think he's an idiot you're falling for it too.
Telling people to "give up hopes" is just a terrible word choice, even if the thing you're asking them to give up is solidly distasteful.
So many more positively phrased options-- "commit to peaceful nuclear programs", for example. We got a real wordsmith in here, boys. Better keep Smith AND Corona lubed up and ready.
I was gonna say, this mother fucker literally pulled out of the deal that was working to keep Iran from getting nuclear weapons in the first place. This would be like if I came home drunk and shit the bed, then held a family meeting saying I am instructing everyone in the house to work towards an end to shitting in the beds.
