I feel like virtually no child actually received one of these in reality; like it’s something out of legend. I had the original Duke figure. And I’m pretty sure that was it. And he was glued back together a couple times as well.
My cousin did. I almost talked my parents into it, then they saw his and objected to the size of it.
I still have all my GI Joe stuff, though the condition varies. The first generation characters are all beat to hell, have missing accessories, etc. Same with the first wave of vehicles.
But I got better at preserving my toys fairly quickly, so the rest are in decent shape for stuff that was so heavily played with. The f-14 is probably the best preserved of the bigger toys, but some of the smaller ones are still near mint. For whatever reason though, that hovercraft took a serious beating lol.
I keep thinking I should pull them out and catalog everything, get the accessories with the right characters and all, but I never do because damn that box is full and heavy
I don't think I ever saw the figures here in Finland. But I think I managed to find (in second hand stores) and read the entire run of comics eventually.
