Those glasses look like his eyelids, making him look half asleep lol
I think that helps to convey the "adults are boring" aspect that a child may perceive.
(Just in case: this is not OC)
I mean even if it's not intentional, it's well done. The adult looks half asleep and boring, but if you look past the glasses he's just as wide-eyed as the child, which could be portraying the inner child and excitement of the adult despite a calm boring exterior. At least thats my interpretation, I like to think the adult is actually really excited to be talking about fantastical (even if usually evil) things like witches.
