Sounds like the flixbus (or rather flixtrain model) which has been a good and a bad thing I guess. I expect competition to be a good thing for everyone unless they go and offer service below cost until the competition goes bankrupt and then abuse their new monopoly. Let's see how this plays out...
Given that they are a american company, they will probably just buy out their competition and close them down
Well Eurostar is a state owned company. It can't go bankrupt. But if it starts losing a lot of money, it can be scaled down.
