On Monday I have a meeting with my boss and his boss. They wouldn't say what for, only that "I shouldn't worry". Which makes me ABSOLUTELY worry. Don't think I'll be fired but I'll probably be put on a PIP or something.
On top of that one of my cats is actively dying. She's 15 and I'm by no means ready to say goodbye.
Then I decided to upgrade my pc but of course I botched that and now I have a very expensive paperweight, a mountain of frustration, a few thousand € wasted and nothing but misery and shit to look forward to.
Ain't life grand? I'm in my 40's and when I was younger, I kept going thinking "one day surely things will finally be better". But they're not. They always keep getting worse and my ability to cope diminishes instead of growing. I feel every failure separately covering me with their weight, and I've finally racked up enough that the combined stress is starting to crush me completely.
Wow. Your life could be my life. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of that at once.
I have a ton of anxiety about my job right now - they are expecting the world of me and I don't have enough faith in myself to pull it off. Also, my little cat just died.
If you need to talk to someone, no strings attached, I gotchu.
Just go for it. You usually are way better than you think! And it sounds like the rest has even less of a clue. Just give it your best and document your work and decisions (+ motitavion why you choose what you choose !!!). That way you add to you're own confidence and are able to review an explain what happened and why.
It's most likely good news not bad news. Your boss could have easily fired you on Friday, but they're bringing their boss in to show you off and talk you up to them. Enjoy your weekend and don't stress about it.
I'm sorry, that sucks. Still, it's better to enjoy the weekend and not stress about things outside of your control. What do you do for a living? Is it something that you can pick up another job somewhere else fairly easily doing the same thing or something more specialized? If they want you out I'd just start looking for a better opportunity elsewhere.
Oh it's definitely not good news. I've been in hot water with management for over a year now, and they recently cut all bonuses and instigated a hiring freeze.
Most likely I'll get to do someone else's job on top of mine for no extra pay. And that's a best case scenario.
