Should energy drink fans be worried? Not necessarily. The study didn’t test taurine from drinks or supplements, only how the body produces and uses it during leukemia.
It's an interesting read. There's no cause for alarm, we're just finding out how leukemia cells feed themselves. It specifically calls out that drinks and supplements given to chemo patients specifically include it to help with side effects, but those with leukemia specifically might want to check in with their doctor to discuss this new study.

Cancer loves the sugar too. Easy energy for whatever cells in the body want to use it.
Some people drink these daily, like with every bad habit. Just use it in moderation, and you're fine.
