I would start by contacting the nearest Ukrainian embassy.

Also, check whether your home country will have an issue with you serving a foreign military.

I see thank you. Do you know country that will be open? Immigration isn't a big problem in south America. Not a problem if you are joining military for "the good guys".
I have no real experience on the subject, but if I had to guess, volunteers would fly into Poland and travel by land into Ukraine.
You should really get some advice from people who have done it though. Even if it's not strictly speaking illegal, flying internationally with a bunch of military gear in your luggage and saying you're off to fight in a war is probably not appreciated by the customs officers of any country you would travel through.
You should have a clear idea of who to report to before you even start packing. You will almost certainly get shunted into a "foreign legion" if you don't speak a lick of Ukrainian.
Also, consider your choice carefully. Pro-Ukraine social media likes to put their victories and Russian embarrassments front and center. But this isn't some low intensity police action, this war is chewing lots of people up and there's little bias as to who. Basically every volunteer I've heard stories from says they've had buddies get maimed or killed, if they haven't gotten maimed or killed themselves.
