Recs: Calendar and Contacts?
Recs: Calendar and Contacts?
Hey all!
I'm looking for recommendations for sharing a Calendar and Contacts.
Any suggestions that aren't OwnCloud/NextCloud? I already have storage with Syncthing and pictures with Immich.
Thanks for your recommendations!
No personal knowledge of them but a couple would be sabre/dav and radicale:
edit: and for Android phones the DAVx⁵ is a great caldav and carddav client

11 0 ReplyI recently switched from radicale to baikal. Both are straight forward no frills caldav / carddav managers. Baikal has a more modern UX. My switch came from choosing to use YunoHost to simplify my home server management
10 0 ReplyAnother for radicale. Been using it for years now. Its great.
8 0 Reply@nico198x dav server for contacts and calendar so its radicale
6 0 ReplyI've heard numerous recommendations of both sabre and radicale, but ive never used them. I use baikal for both contacts and calendars. It's simple and it works well.
6 0 ReplySame here, Baikal user for about a year, no hiccups so far, works great across my devices.

I use radicale with great success. Highly recommended. It's simple and barebone, get the job done, doesn't get into the way.
Is it fancy and has bells and whistles? No. But who cares given how solid and easy it is.
It has no web calendar, you need an additional tool for that.
6 0 ReplyI know it's not everyone's favourite but I use Nextcloud to manage family calendars and contacts and to sync between Mac, PC, iOS and Android.
6 0 Replyfor me it's more that it's heavier than i really need. no hate, i think it's cool software.
3 0 ReplySame. Just switched due to de-googling.

Using baikal here, on docker. Easy to move to another server when I did early this year
4 0 ReplySecond Baikal, I'm using docker on nixos through compose2nix and it's great for syncing both my calendar and my tasks.org todo lists. Crazy easy to setup as well.
