Changing climate is turning prisons into torture chambers and death traps

Cruel summer heat turns non-air-conditioned concrete prisons into ovens that cook the people inside alive. This is not justice. It is inhumane.

Y'all, that's what US prisons always were. When I was growing up in the 'naughties we regularly joked about prison murder and rape and the many inhumane indignities prisoners face. That was just "normal" for kids. Prisons have always been death camps.

Climate change is just creating another way to torture people to death.

Abolition is the only answer.
