And they’ll still force every one of their poor members to pay a 10% income tax while burying more gold in the Vatican.
A book I was just reading told a story of how the Massachusetts church was trying for a long time to build more affordable housing, and basically got blocked out by NIMBYs and white patriarchy. So, given recent media, I’ve found them to sometimes be okay.

The whole Pope position is more than iffy, totally unnecessary and a relic of the past, a reminder of the times in which the Pope had lands and actual power (and much blood was shed making these people rich and using the name of God as an excuse). This pope might be, insha'Allah, a better human than every single red American, sure, but that's a very low bar, especially for a religious leader. The last Pope was loved by all and was an exception because he was a reasonable and moral man, not a politician in funny clothes.
