Welcome all new r/GenP users!

Just woke up. 28 new applications! Each time i refresh the page i get two new apps.

Welcome to all former users of r/GenP! An admin is talking to one of their mods about getting their community onto here, hopefully we can work something out.

I hope you all like the Instance, and Lemmy as a whole.

But guys... You gotta read the application ;) Just because it's simple doesn't mean you get to ignore and get it wrong completely :D

Glad to be here. Can anyone give me a recommendation of a good VPN for p2p or should I get a vps and run my app from there? I used Vuze and utorrent back in the day and am out of the loop. Just tired of the 10 subscriptions these days and then my show ends up switching to a different provider that I don't have. Also, I'm boycotting Spotify and have my old iPod back out. Forgot how much I loved that thing!
- if you'retech-savvy-: mullvad VPN, and a selfhosted seedbox using qbittorrent or deluge (both are FOSS torrent clients)
  
  if you're not as tech savvy: protonVPN, (and their app suite with the "unlimited" package, its really good, and a good price for how much you get), plus qbitorrent.
  
  and whatever you do.... MAKE SURE TO BIND THE CLIENT TO THE VPN INTERFACE
I am in no way against paid software.

I am, however, against

actively making sure that people, who can't afford it, don't get the software

only offering your software as a subscription service

only offering a license that can be revoked at any point instead of the actual software.

Piracy and free software helped me immensely from high school to college, and it's still helping me now in my working life. Really thankful for everyone involved in maintaining GenP and this community!

  In the official discord server they promoted revolt/dbzer0 a lot. I joined both (before the revolt existed) and pretty much fanned the flames lmao.

  the admins or devs idk exactly who of the patcher got a c&d from adobe which i mean surprise pikachu but i mean a lot of people rely on them and they rose the price to $90 a month so just what the fuck

- Adobe thought it would be funny to send a cease and desist to Reddit and Discord which were our only two communities. We just switched to Lemmy and Revolt, and will setup a self-hosted matrix server in the future.
- Subreddit got shut down by admins, and the discord (can't reach it sadly) is telling their users to come here :D

Sorry you lost your old home, but also, you're going to be so surprised when you realize the fediverse is like the old internet. (To that end, I recommend lurking until you're comfortable and understand the whole... fediverse... thing.)

I don’t know what GenP is (sounds like a shorting of prison term general population) but welcome to the fediverse all 👋👋🫘
- Our tool allows you to download apps directly from Adobe servers using Creative Cloud, then it patches them to remove the trial limitations and any banners/popups saying the apps are unlicensed.
  
  What’s cool is you can keep updating the apps through Creative Cloud and quickly patching them to get the latest version, like a paid customer.
  
  Fancy! Must be some smart people with software disassembly tools and good programming skills. Im jelly.
