When spawning, salmon exhaust themselves to death. That's kinda what this looks like, a really tired salmon was floating there and summoned a burst of energy. They don't taste good at this time.
So this feels like a genuine video, with ai generated videos getting better and better I really wonder how this kind of video will be received in the future? Skepticism? No matter how real a video is it can't be trusted to represent reality, how do we verify the veracity of a video? Geotagging and weather validation? Spacial videos? Multiple camera angles? I wonder if a post truth society simply won't trust anything
I hate to say it but, I think we are going to find out. I think the paradigm has already shifted and the rules haven't yet been figured out. We're already living in a post truth era. People running around spouting lies and denying truth to the point of exhaustion.
You bring up an interesting point. Maybe we'll have to get to the point that if it's not in a physical book obviously copywritten pre 2017 no one will trust it.
We have certificate authorities in the digital world and notaries in the paper world. It’s not a huge leap to start an authenticity authority for videos, images and audio.
I think it comes down to trusted sources. Some individuals/groups will build a reputation and cryptographically sign their content, and you could check the signature of a given video so you know who signed it.
