there are multiple versions of the clip and the associated lore floating around and if you don't spend enough time with what happened at the time you can easily be convinced of a variety of viewpoints

I'm sorry that my government is making a mess for you and yours. But please don't think that there is a lack of action. There have been basically nonstop (very liberal and mostly toothless) protests since before the election even, but the news refuses to report on them. Furthermore, there is a LOT going on from folks who would rather not advertise how they are resisting.
A resistance to a fascist government cannot, by it's nature, be public facing, so you'll never know everything that people are sacrificing and doing every day. But they are. We are.
