Bannon did go on Europe to promote the far-right groups and his ideas almost ten years back. In any case, it is though autarky and isolationism had worked well before....

If the EU could have Brussels effect by forcing countries that trade with them to improve their standards, then Project 2025 want other countries trade with US but... lower their standards? I don't get all this. These ridiculous demands could be smoke and mirrors for something else. Or, they could genuinely be serious and accelerationists like Elon Musk and Peter Thiel, who are now whispering in Trump's ears, want the world to end and pick up the scraps for themselves. Maybe that's why they are pushing for AI. When the world ends and there are fewer people, only the robots they could rely on.
