All around me millions of trees are cut down, including native forests with 500 year old trees, literally no fucks given. Every hill i can see from my window has been stripped bare and replanted with the green desert of mono forestry. The only reason they're not gown on the plains around me is they've been clear felled and given over to dairy.
What a nightmare...

so not really much of an apology.....
We had a similar thing few years ago in the Maashorst, south NL. Guy "accidentally" chopped a part of the forest which was protected but on his terrain (or something). Lame apology but no repercussions or any restoration projects. Everyone in town knows the asshole is just laughing at the municipality.
