why are there not more calls to boycott tech companies?
a lot of the big tech companies have shown that they are willing to collaborate with Donald trump I know it can be hard for a lot of people to switch away from tech companies and a lot of them try their hardest to make it difficult to leave. but I don’t really see anyone even calling for this in cases where it is easier.
the collaboration of these companies is highly problematic with their capability to gather information about people they have already freely given information to the police without a warrant.
recently google has started censoring CECOT on google maps what other information are they censoring? we already know google is a privacy nightmare as well. I am aware google makes it hard to switch away from but I strongly believe an effort should be made by people to at least mitigate what information they can gather.
I've been saying it all year. And I have moved away from big tech for the most part. I've3 replaced everything that was google. And I am thinking about trying to swap all my PCs over to Linux, I should just do, I just have never used linux before, so it'll take time.
I recommend Linux mint for newbies. If you want to try it out first I recommend installing it on a virtual machine that way you can see the installation process before you actually install it and then you can use it for a but and see what its really like to use. Also encrypt your hard drives it should be an option at install.
YouTube was the last big tech social media account I had and I just deleted my account and am currently working on moving my email I should have done this long ago.
