this sounds great until you realize it means it literally doesn't get dark, for a month straight it is always bright enough that they don't really even need to turn on the street lamps.
It sucks more than you think it would to not be able to see the night sky properly during the warmest months, all the astronomy up here has to be done when it's cold 😭
The first two times I visited Stockholm from the US were the day after summer solstice and then the day before winter solstice. Got the full experience.
Pretty much all of June July and August was in the 20s in Tromsø last summer. I grew tomatoes and chillis on the balcony. I'd say that qualifies as pretty warm.
25C is pretty good! But we can go higher and neither we nor our houses are built for heat, so it gets to be like a thousand degrees indoors at night and we can't sleep and get dehydrated and desalinated.
I'm considering whether I'll have to start fleeing to the Northwestern coast to chill with some drizzle instead of getting heat stroke
Wdym? Norwegian summers are freaking awesome! Comfortable temperatures, tons of daylight, easily accessible nature… I always feel bad about missing out on all that if I spend summer vacation abroad
