    • I agree. It is obvious that the Egg Bowl is the most important game of the season.

      • Depends on how many touchdown celebrations involve miming a urinating dog. Actually, come to think of it, that game was responsible for both teams firing their coaches so it actually was important...

  • Not sure Texas @ Alabama is as important as number 5. It's early enough in the season that it'll be a blip on the narrative when the committee's post-rationalizing their selections. And if it's close, either team can "afford" the loss. Heck, Texas went up in the rankings last year after losing to Alabama.

    The real games that are important are wacky upset games, but you can't really write a whole article about those.
