They're each made of three little "things" connected to each other that each have three potential properties that go in two different "directions" giving them very complicated behavior with each other, and if you try to pry the little things apart to see what they're made of, more little things pop into existence so you can never isolate them. And yes, every subatomic particle has wave and particle-like properties but it's not correct to say they're either one or the other, or that they're both.
