Indeed it is but I'm not talking about the AI Slop. I'm talking about the people that feel the need to drop that two words oneliner that does nothing and serves no other purpose than to announce that the commenter was able to spot a generated image regardless the context. Most often it is more than obvious for anybody that cares. Hence, it is the new "fake!"
Neither does most of the infographics and whatnot. Everybody that cares can see it is generative. Everybody that can't is not bothered.
Most of the comments I see are barely nothing more than "AI SLOP!", indicating that the only purpose was for the commenter to announce that they could see it.
You're half right. All of them do. That being said, it isn't a fucking problem.
OP is an absolute numpty but this point of view is utter nonsense and demonstrates an extreme lack of media comprehension skills. The point of a skit is to frame it as reality so that you can relate to the skit. There are no skits that open with anything saying "This is fake and a skit." They assume that the viewer has enough brain cells to determine that it is a skit and then just enjoy it for what it is. Evidentally y'all have enough to narrow down that it is a skit but then you just completely lock up, point and scream fake at the top of your lungs. It's fucking exhausting and, to me, gives me the instant visual of someone who just points at the sky and goes "IT'S BLUE" and then drools all over themselves.
On One hand, it is unpopular, in that nobody really thinks this. It's also unpopular because I think most people, if not damn near everyone, would think it's stupid and reject it entirely based on the obvious flaws in the comparison even if they didn't disagree.
However, the post looks like rage bait, and you complained about voting, then you veer into mild nastiness. Which makes it likely the post was rage bait.
If you hadn't edited in the crap, I'd have up voted because the original post was a perfect fit for the C/. But, dude, that edit is just lame. So I had to down vote.
You make a post in a community like this, you take the votes as they come. You don't whine about them, and you don't turn it into some kind of ego weirdness.
My dude, really. I couldn't care less about internet points that you explain how you're carefully deciding who is deserving. Seriously. Nobody should.
This was a casual reflection that amused me and then came the next one that I added as an edit.
Though I admit it was my mistake to get invested for a moment and try to explain and make people understand my point. That was quite silly and pointless. Social media is what it is.
Your unpopular opinion is that users commenting nothing but "ai slop" on slop ai posts is counterproductive to the discussion, as it provides nothing of value.
I'd argue that posting ai slop in and of itself provides nothing of value. There is nothing of value in generative ai. People are going to comment on it, because it's bad. Get over it, I guess.
