He's mostly just raising taxes on Americans without using the word tax.
Europe got tariffs and he drove a wedge between us and them. We can sit back down and say thank you for the pass or stand strong with Europe and the other countries.
Before all this was released he threatened if we teamed up in retaliation with others it would be bad.

We were "spared"? They're fucking with us. We got no clear info, our leaders will be scratching their heads over this trying to make sense of it for the next few days, then he'll change the terms in 5 minutes or at 3am or next week, and he'll blame it on what we were wearing.

I don't think any 5d chess is going on here. I think it is as simple as "Holy fuck! Canada stopped spending their money here. This is causing a lot of damage!".
The damage is done so save your sweet nothings Mr. Trump/Elon.
Asia will unite with China. Political dysfunction in Canada needs to end to stop losing that export market, and insist on desperation for US trade normalcy. China is a much better global anchor for the world, and today's US attack means Canada should join the global movement that will result, if only to get US respect.
