Well.ca and local businesses are Canadian alternatives to Amazon. If you really need that low-quality junk (press X to doubt), cut out the middleman and purchse directly from China with Aliexpress instead of Amazon. Amazon sellers usually just markup and resell from Aliexpress/Alibaba anyways.
In the early 2000s, I stopped going to Walmart for several years. Even now, I have been there maybe 5 times in the last decade. I appreciate all the alternative lists because Amazon is harder to replace because we have less alternatives left and they cover such a broad spectrum of products. I'm doing a pretty good job of not buying much of anything though!
And if your excuse is a remote area, Amazon is so slow at delivering knockoff goods, you might as well get anything you'd normally buy from amazon directly from Aliexpress et al if you can't afford made in Canada for some items. Atleast then you save 60% off Amazon, it arrives in 2 weeks with choice shipping, and Bezos doesn't get to be the middleman.
Canadian Tire is my new amazon .. haven't tried delivery yet but i did go in-store to buy a few things i was going to get from amazon .. i like how on the website it tells you the aisle number. i guess in the app you can make a light blink on the shelf if you can't find it.
