Double the price for a gimmick? That’ll be a hard pass from me.
I’m constantly questioning whether I’m just getting old and wary of change or if things like foldable phone screens are actually a stupid gimmicky waste of money.
- Gimmick for me. I like innovation but I don't see the point here. The rectangle shape was almost perfect from the start like a TV or any screen. You can't really improve this except by using new magical technology like holograms or brain implants.
  Also all foldable phones do break around me for those who bought them. Doubly stupid idea.
- so far its very niche. i'm glad they are still experimenting with fundamental designs. but for me i'd rather they dig towards google cardboard type dev for occasional vr use.
A a multiple z flip owner. Don't do it! Pocket lint has broken 2 of my z flip 4!
Apple will keep charging whatever their marketing department can convince idiots to pay.
Their profit margin has zero basis in the reality of how much it costs to design, build, and market a particular product and is instead a function of how high they can push it until their customer says no.
That's why they have the spare cash to produce goddamn television shows... That they THEN make you pay to watch!
IPhone users have already paid for appleTV a thousand times over. But hey, gotta look cool in front of your coworkers I guess.

  Wouldn't even know where to begin. Suffice it to say I have a long history of seeing how Apple does things via selling their products in various places.
Why so cheap?
I buy a new phone when I need one. Not for some new gimmick of questionable value.
