“The President Wanted It and I Did It”: Recording Reveals Head of Social Security’s Thoughts on DOGE and Trump
In a recording obtained by ProPublica, acting Social Security Commissioner Leland Dudek portrayed his agency as facing peril, while also encouraging patience with “the DOGE kids.”
"“I don’t want the system to collapse,” Dudek said in a closed-door meeting last week, according to a recording obtained by ProPublica."
As a disabled "parasite" this stuff is nightmare fuel and concerning. Given the Senate Democrats basically giving Elon and Trump free reign now with the CR passing, I'm even more nervous.
“I actually like having the kids around,” he said, adding that although they were unfamiliar with the “nuances” of Social Security, he was trying to get them to be more thoughtful. “They’re thinking about work differently.”
I respect that this guy is walking a fine line. I think he should speak his mind (I can tell he is trying to be diplomatic here) since he's going to be replaced anyway. But to say the above is just willful self-delusion. Dudek, you know damn well those kids are paid not to think at all. They're there to wreck shit.
