"Utopian" is usually just code for "no poors allowed"
- My city is surrounded by Bible belt rural "cities are literally Satan" counties
  In like 3 directions now about 20-30 minutes out are these "fine I'll build my own city with blackjack and bookers" "town centers" with residential and first floor commercial and a event area for concerts and stuff where you'll NEVER have to drive
  Until you need to do literally anything other than grab a cup of coffee. 🙄
Utopia for rich is usually dystopia for regular people. I will pass..
- I was tossed whether to post in futurism, late stage capitalism or, dystopia
the US, where building a walkable city is utopia
Honestly I'm just pissed that they are paying far below fair market rate for the land. 15k per acre is nothing for development in the state. Taxpayers getting ripped off.

I wonder what kind of authoritarian policies they will have to keep the homeless out of sight.
Pretty wild, right? I gotta admit, the idea of Silicon Valley elites creating a utopian city sounds both intriguing and a bit sci-fi. On the one hand, it's cool to imagine what innovative tech they'll bring in, but I wonder about the implications for local housing prices and communities. Let's just hope this dream project doesn't become a gated paradise and instead focuses on sustainability and inclusivity.
