I thought that was the entire point of the show; to get the highlights of the matches!? I mean, it's not Gary Lineker's charming personality.

"It should be built around analysis and examination of the match to give viewers a deeper insight."
Get a grip, it's just a football match. The MOTD highlights are long enough to get all the insight you could want, and the punditry is 90% filler.
