If it walks like a fascist coup, and it quacks like a fascist coup, it's probably a fascist coup.
A few weeks in and Trump has essentially:
Full control of the (federal part of the) legislative branch.
Gutted the executive branch through DOGE and EOs.
Practically DDOSed the judicial branch.
Purged and replaced possibly disloyal military leadership.
Taken exploratory steps on declaring military law.
Made very thinly veiled threats of invasion towards several countries, two of which are currently allied with him.
Wiped out more than a century of foreign policy gains in a week (which is honestly somewhat impressive, in a fucked up kind of way).
Americans, if you ever wondered how the rise of the Nazi dictatorship looked like from the inside of Germany, wonder no more, it looked kind of like this.
This isn't exactly fascism, this is the first technocracy in the works. Every kind of dictatorship follows the same steps but the end results is different, in this case would end with corporations controlling power, in others was a single dictator, an unitary party, a monarch, and religious leaders.
My account is too new to upload screenshots but look up "Technocracy Incorporated."
Elon Musk's grandfather & Tech. Inc. tried to overthrow Canada during WW2, before being arrested.
Errol (Elon's dad) says they were associated with the Nazi party of Canada, but caveats he "wasn't sure if they knew what was going on back in Germany" (it was 1939, almost 1940 - make up your own mind)
He then went back to South Africa and wrote books about how it would be a bastion against "anti white, anti Christian" forces
Guessing you wanted to show something like this? Otherwise you might be able to post links at least, not sure what your instance does in terms of restrictions.
And yeah, it's interesting that Trumps territorial threats seem to pretty much match this "vision" so far, with the exception of Gaza I guess.
This isn’t exactly fascism, this is the first technocracy in the works.
Could still go either way I think. But good point, the Night of the Long Knives is certainly going to be interesting. I kind of see Trump as having the edge though, with large parts of the cult being loyal to him as a person.
It's just a bit of nitpicking in the naming because I prefer calling things what they are not otherwise they end up losing meaning.
You are right until the whole thing is settled it can go either way, it can even go back to "democracy" (two party system isn't really very democratic)
