Organic Maps let's you login to Open Street Map, so you can submit revisions and reviews. It's my goto right now for an alternative.
Giving up Google Maps is hard though, they bake it into a ton of services. Everyone mocked it, myself included, when Apple maps launched, but I'm now really glad they are a player in this space.
I've tried and tried to use OSMand+, Magic Earth, and Organic Maps but I swear Maps is the one thing I just can't replace. Between Google's reviews, accuracy, traffic data, and coverage, I have not found anything that compares.
Technically if you’re using Apple Maps you’re mostly using OpenStreetMap (UK) and TomTom (Dutch) so you’re not committing the gravest kind of crimes against European motherland.
Apple pays TomTom for their map data. Using Apple Maps on Apple devices is a natural choice for those who are looking for a polished alternative that doesn’t sacrifice too much compared to Google Maps.
We had a really good discussion about map alternatives and their problems / strengths in this community on a thread about Organic Maps! https://sopuli.xyz/post/23130919
Apple Maps. For non Apple platforms, you can use DuckDuckGo to search for something and then click on maps on top. That gives you Apple Maps in the browser. It can provide directions as well.
